28 May 2025 marks World Menstrual Hygiene Day, a global movement to raise awareness about the importance of good menstrual hygiene and break the silence around periods. This year’s theme, “It’s time to care. It’s time for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld”, reminds us that menstruation is natural — and managing it should be safe, healthy, and dignified for everyone.
At R Pharmacy, we believe in supporting not only your physical health, but also your confidence and comfort. Whether you menstruate or love someone who does, here are simple but powerful hygiene habits everyone should know:
1. Wear Clean & Dry Undergarments
Damp or unwashed underwear can lead to irritation and infection. Always wear fresh, breathable undergarments — especially during your period.
2. Change Menstrual Products Regularly
Whether you use pads, tampons, or menstrual cups, change them every 4–6 hours to prevent bacteria buildup and maintain freshness.
3. Keep Your Genital Area Clean
Use clean water to gently wash your external genital area. Avoid harsh soaps or douching, which can disrupt your natural balance.
4. Track & Monitor Your Period
Keeping tabs on your menstrual cycle helps you spot irregularities early and prepare in advance. There are many free apps that make tracking easy!
5. Wash Undergarments Properly
If you handwash your underwear, use clean water and mild soap. Dry them under the sun when possible for natural disinfection.
6. Discard Used Products Properly
Wrap used pads or tampons in tissue or a disposal bag and throw them in the bin — not the toilet. Proper disposal helps protect the environment and others.

Let’s End the Stigma, Together
Menstrual hygiene isn’t just a personal matter — it’s a public health issue. By talking about it openly and sharing correct information, we can build a world where no one is held back by their period.
Join us in spreading awareness. Let’s care, not cringe. Let’s talk, not whisper. Let’s build a #PeriodFriendlyWorld.
